The game between English and Germans was the first of the 17 that will be played in the North American country, with 15 different venues and with the participation of 18 teams, representing six European leagues, and again without sets of the MLS and in full dispute of its season.
The participants, which also include the FC Barcelona, who defends the title of champion of the last preseason, and the Real Madrid, they will have to play three matches each.
The two Spanish teams, which this year will not live a Classic, like the one in the previous edition in Miami (Florida), will be the big stars, along with the English Manchester City and United.
He FC Barcelona will travel to the United States on July 24 to make his preseason tour with three matches against Tottenham, Rome Y Milan, respectively. The first match will be the one that they play against the English, on July 29, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena (California); the next will be August 1 at AT & T Stadium in Arlington (Texas) versus Rome; and will close its participation on August 5 against Milan, at Lewi's Stadium in Santa Clara, also in California.
He Real Madrid, that comes without its big star, Cristiano Ronaldo, recently signed by Juventus of Turin (who also participates in the tournament, but without Portuguese in their ranks) and with a new coach, Julen Lopetegui, will debut on August 1 against Manchester United, who directs his ex-trainer Jose Mourinho.
The scenario of the duel between Real Madrid and the English team will be the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, where last year the “classic” was played with FC Barcelona; then, on August 4, he will play against the Turin team at the FedExField in Washington; and 8 will face Roma at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford (New Jersey).
The tournament calendar
The other 10 matches of the tournament will be played in Europe Y Asia. The competition serves as a pre-season with a view to the 2018-1919 campaign.
England, with six teams (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham), is the league with the most participants, followed by Spain (Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla) e Italy (Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and Rome) with four.
Germany (Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund) and France (Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon) will have two teams each, while Portugal will be in the competition with Benfica.
